William Hanna, a devoted father and grandfather, passed away on February 24, 2026, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee. Born on January 16, 1960, in Bolivar, Tennessee, he spent his life embodying the values of hard work and simple living.
William dedicated a significant part of his career to being a dye mixer at Kilgore until he became disabled approximately eight years ago. Known for his strong work ethic, he took pride in every task he undertook, reflecting his commitment to providing for his family.
A man of faith, William was a Baptist and found solace in his beliefs throughout his life. He was deeply devoted to his family, cherishing the time spent with them. His granddaughters—Lilly Jade Hanna, Jasmine Grace Hanna, and Daisey Pearl Hanna—were the lights of his life, and he relished the joy they brought to his world.
Affectionately remembered as a simple man, William had a passion for fishing, particularly for catfish, often taking the time to enjoy nature and the peacefulness of the water. Over the years, he formed lasting memories with his loved ones during these cherished moments outdoors.
William is survived by his son, Otis W. Hanna of Morenci, AZ; his brother, Dude West of Toone; and his sisters, Donna L. Purdue of Jackson and Patricia Woods of Bolivar. He was preceded in death by his parents, William D. Hanna and Pearl West Hanna.
As we remember William, we celebrate a life well-lived, defined by love for family, a strong work ethic, and a deep appreciation for the simple things. He will be missed dearly by those who knew him and will remain forever in their hearts. Memorial services will be set for a later date.
