William Lee Bynum, affectionately known as "Billy," peacefully passed away on April 25, 2024, in Germantown, Tennessee. He was born on August 18, 1940, in Canaan, Mississippi.
Billy led a remarkable life filled with various experiences and endeavors. He began his career at Wonder Bakery in Memphis and later transitioned to become a dedicated truck driver for 32 years, contributing his services to TimeDC and TNT Holland. Additionally, Billy proudly served in the Army National Guard.
Apart from his professional accomplishments, Billy had a wide range of hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He had a passion for fishing and constructing things, often spending time tinkering with objects. His culinary skills were admired by many, particularly for his delicious peanut brittle and banana pudding. Known for his welcoming nature, Billy never hesitated to strike up a conversation with strangers.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents William Earl Bynum and Wilma Mae Russum Bynum, brothers Bobby Bynum, George Luther Bynum, Mike Bynum, and an infant sister Mary Louise Bynum.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 61 years, Sue Bynum of Saulsbury; children, Kevin Bynum and Kelly of Saulsbury, Michelle Bynum Palmer & Caleb of Saulsbury, Lee Bynum & Brenda of Lamar, MS; sister, Cora Bynum Campbell & Eugene of Saulsbury; grandchildren, Anthony Tradup, Brittney Beard, Blake Palmer, Faith Bynum, Liam Bynum and Cat Bynum.
William Lee Bynum's legacy lives on through the memories shared with family and friends who will forever cherish his warm spirit and kind heart. May he rest in peace. Memorial contributions in his name may be sent to Saulsbury Baptist Church.
