Mr. William David McGarrh, age 88 of Humboldt, formerly of Jackson and Hardeman County, passed from this life Monday morning, August 17, 2015 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was a native of Hardeman County, born the son of Dan and Grace Jackson McGarrh. He moved to Jackson in 2003 and to Humboldt in 2010. On January 6, 1951, he was united in marriage to Maggie Mae Jackson. Mrs. McGarrh passed away May 27, 2010.
For many years, Mr. McGarrh worked as a commercial printer, both for the Bolivar Bulletin-Times and Bolivar Commercial Printing. He was a veteran of the US Air Force having served during World War II and retired from the Tennessee National Guard after 20 years of service. A member of the South Jackson Church of Christ, he enjoyed fishing, all kinds of music and outings taken with fellow residents of the West Tennessee Veterans' Home.
He leaves three daughters, Carolyn Crouse of Jackson, Barbara Motley and Betty King, both of Somerville; ten grandchildren, Ginger Stinson, Penny Wray, Jason Crouse, Shane and Anthony German, Adam, Scottie and Kimberly King, Amy Maples and Ashley Shearin; 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Mike McGarrh; and two brothers, Raymond and Ernest McGarrh.
