William P. (Bill) Dooley departed this life on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 56 Years, 6 Months, 22 Days. He was born April 13, 1959 in Waynesboro, TN the son of the late William Barney and Helen Lucille Mathis Dooley. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Joyce Daniel on December 22, 1989.
In 1979 Bill joined the Marine Corps and was discharged in 1987 receiving numerous awards including rifle marksman, Sea Service Deploment Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and Navy Unit Commendation. After his discharge from the Marines, he served in the National Guard until he retired in 2001. Bill served over ten years in the American Legion Post # 0254 in Collinwood and also was active in the local union. He formerly was employed at Lincoln Brass in Waynesboro.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn Joyce Daniel Dooley of Collinwood, TN, daughters, Kinsey Dooley of Collinwood, TN, Alexis Napoli of California, Lori Cleveland of Zip City, AL, grandchildren, Haley Holt, Luke Holt, Jaden Cleveland, and Kaylee Cleveland, brothers, Mark Dooley of Waynesboro, TN and John Dooley of Nolensville, TN, sisters, Susan Gallian of Waynesboro, TN and Deloris Lansche of Atlanta, GA, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at 1:30 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Bobby Pinckley and Cary Crews officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Collinwood Memorial Gardens with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers are Ben Gallian, Will Gallian, Daniel Dooley, Allan Lansche, Dalton Dooley, and Colton Dooley, honorary pallbearers are Shane Ward, Joseph Stotts, and James Warren.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 7, 6:00-9:00 pm and on Sunday, November 8, 11:00 am until service time @ Shackelford Funeral Home, Waynesboro
