William Wylie Gobbell

William Wylie Gobbell Jr. William Wylie Gobbell, Jr., was born September 2, 1919 in Westpoint, TN, the son of the late William Wylie and Minnie Hooks Gobbell. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gobbell was preceded in death by a grandson. He was united in marriage to Helen Clayton on September 10, 1939.



Mr. Gobbell was a retired assembly line worker at Murray Ohio Manufacturing Company and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee. He served in the United States Army during WWII.



Mr. Gobbell departed this life on Satureday, July 31, 2010 at Wayne County Nursing Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 90 Years, 10 Months, 29 Days.



He is survived by his wife, Helen Clayton Gobbell of Waynesboro, TN; two sons, Autry Gobbell of Clifton, TN, Douglas Gobbell of Waynesboro, TN; a daughter, Sandra Camfield of Waynesboro, TN; 9 Grandchildren, 14 Great- Grandchildren,



Services will be held on Monday, August 2, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Cal Hampton and Rev. Lea Thorton officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be Jason Camfield, Michael Camfield, Douglas Gobbell, Derrick Gobbell, Stephen Gobbell, Stephen Gobbell, II.



Visitation will be Sunday, August 1, 2010 from 5 pm to 8 pm and Monday, August 2, 2010 from 8 am until service time at the funeral home.
