William Arnold Goodrum

William Arnold Goodrum was born July 5, 1930 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late Calvin Luke and Mary Rilla Lacefield Goodrum.He was united in marriage to Willie Nixon on March 14, 1950.Mr. Goodrum was a supervisor for Baptist Hospital in Memphis and was later employed as a shuttle operator for Park, Ride, and Fly, also in Memphis. He was a member of the Church of God. Mr. Goodrum loved to dance and play the guitar, and he especially enjoyed listening to the music of Elvis Presley. Mr. Goodrum departed this life on August 16, 2010 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 80 Years, 1 Month, 11 Days. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Willie (Nixon) Goodrum of Selmer, TN; a daughter, Kaye Kaiser of Bartlett, TN; three sons: Rodger Dale Goodrum and wife Myra Sue of Memphis, TN, Jeffrey David Goodrum and wife Dianne of Memphis, TN, and William Nathan Goodrum of Selmer, TN; a sister, Sadie Davis of Booneville, MS; 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many extended family and friends.In addition to his parents, Mr. Goodrum was preceded in death by three sisters: Rosie Borden, Nellie Jernigan, and Annie Rea Cartwright; and two brothers, Clarence Goodrum and Calvin Lonnie Goodrum.
