William Turman (Bill) Johnson

Mr. William Turman (Bill) Johnson of Waynesboro, TN departed this life on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at his residence in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 76 Years, 5 Months, 3 Days. He was born June 29, 1938 in Waynesboro, TN the son of the late George Eaton and Marjorie Elizabeth Turman Johnson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Nell Johnson Shell. Mr. Johnson was regional manager for Allstate insurance Company for many years retiring from the company being located in Detroit MI, Chicago, IL. and Brecksville, OH. Bill finished his high school education in Wayne County and received a bachelors degree from Trevecca Nazerine University in Nashville. He was a musician, having served in the Air Force Marching Band for four years and played with the local jazz group Mixed Company. He was also a member of the Wayne County Bible Center and the local American Legion Chapter of Waynesboro.

He is survived by his wife Betty Keizer Johnson of Waynesboro, TN, son Gregory Turman Johnson of Columbia TN, daughter, Rebecca Sue Johnson Brock of Noblesville IN. five grandchildren, Emilee Ashlee Brock, Mary Blake Brock both of Noblesville IN,and Elisabeth Francis Johnson, Jessica Ruth Johnson and James Turman Johnson all of Columbia TN.

Services will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Leo Doyle and Timothy Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery ,Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements.
