Mr. Jordan passed away Saturday afternoon at his home in Middleton.
The husband of Pat Bruce Jordan, who survives, he served as a Law Enforcement officer with the City of Bolivar from 1969-1980 and with the Middleton Police Department from 1981-2006, retiring as Chief. He was born March 11, 1940 in Hardeman County, son of the late Cleatus and Mary Knipper Jordan and lived all of his life here. He was a graduate of Bolivar Central High School Class of 1958 and enjoyed metal detecting, collecting US Civil War memorabilia. He was a US Army veteran, serving in Vietnam. His other hobbies included antique cars and participating in the Tippah Tigers camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. His family states that he was loved and respected by all. Mr. Jordan was a member of the Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, whom he married in April of 1970, survivors include three daughters, DeLain Ledford of Middleton, Gina Jordan of Memphis and Kim Fox (Joey) of Kansas City, MO; a son, Patrick Jordan (Kim) of Bolivar; a brother, John Jordan (Diane) of Nashville; a sister, Mary Ruth Jordan of Bolivar; nine grandchildren, Heather Hankins, Holden Ledford (Kristin), Juliana Jordan Baker (Patrick), Lara Kate Jordan, Mica Jordan, Amber Woods Watson, Lindsey Cates (Robby), Lauren Wein (Tom) and Victoria Jordan; ten great grandchildren, Skyler Ledford, Macy Ledford, Haleigh Pearson, Piper Ledford, Malin Baker, Alice Baker, Alexis Woods, Emily Watson, Russ Cates and Jordan Cates; and a special niece and nephews, Melinda Lawson, Jeremy Lawson and Tony Gaggley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, J.C. Jordan. The family request memorial donations be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, Memphis Chapter, 713 S.
