William Junior (Duke) Howell

William Junior (Duke) Howell passed away on November 4, 2023 in Jackson, TN, at the age of 75. He was born on December 27, 1947, in McNairy County, TN. 

Mr. Howell dedicated more than thirty years of his life to H & M Construction Company, Inc., where he served as a construction site manager. His exceptional skills and commitment to excellence played a significant role in the success of the company. Additionally, he co-created Concrete Systems Company, LLC, a subsidiary of H & M, which he skillfully managed for many years.  Outside of his professional career and family life, Mr. Howell found joy in pursuing various interests and hobbies. He was an avid golfer and member of Selmer Golf & Country Club. Traveling with friends to play different golf courses was something he truly enjoyed.  Mr. Howell was a member of Lakeview Church in Selmer.

Mr. Howell is survived by his loving wife, Linda Edwards Howell; his sons, William Chad Howell and wife Connie and Brad Lee Howell and wife Bethany; his beloved grandson, William Carter Howell; two sisters, Doris Mullen and Wanda K. Smith and husband David, all of Selmer,TN; a brother, John Dee Howell of Adamsville,TN; along with many other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Velmer and Dessie Matlock Howell; his sister, Juanita Quartero; and three brothers: Willard, Herbert H., and Billy Joe Howell.

During this time of grief and remembrance, let us celebrate the life and achievements of William Junior (Duke) Howell. His dedication to his profession and family, his love for the game of golf and the friends he made, and the legacy he leaves behind will forever be remembered by his family, friends, and colleagues.
