WILLIAM O. ‘BILL’ KEITH
Bartlett, TN: William Oliver Keith age 76 passed away August 17, 2018 at Baptist East Hospital on Walnut Grove in Memphis.
He was born November 6, 1941 in Anguilla, MS and grew up in Jackson, TN the son of the late Charles Oliver and Grace Joy Fortune Keith. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1959 and joined the Air Force, serving from 1960 until 1964 during the Vietnam Era. He started his career with IBM in November 1964, working for IBM until 1996 and continued with supplemental work until 2011. He married Betty Stovall in 1987 and they made their home in Bartlett. He was a Baptist in belief.
He enjoyed his “COFFEE” and trips to the Waffle House and also enjoyed motorcycles, corvettes, and his dogs.
Mr. Keith is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Stovall Keith of Bartlett; two sons, Greg Keith (Ronald Blankenship) of Minneapolis, MN and Jason Keith (Paige) of Jackson; three brothers, Bob Keith of Maryland, Paul Keith and Dennis Keith both of Jackson; nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Dr. James Huggins officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Monday.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Unity Baptist Church Youth Group or Dog Rescue Group of the donor’s choice.
