Mrs. Willie Mae Lanier of Middleton departed this life at the age of 90 years, 3 months, and 6 days Monday, June 18, 2012 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born Sunday, March 12, 1922 to the late Charlie and Fannie Mae McKeown Porter and lived her entire life in Middleton. On February 15, 1941, she was united in marriage to K. C. Lanier, who preceded her in death in 1989. She worked as a homemaker and especially enjoyed keeping her grandchildren. She was a member of the Middleton First Baptist Church.
She leaves as her survivors three sons, Charles Lanier and special friend Diane of Middleton, J. D. Lanier and wife Carolyn of Middleton, and Ralph Lanier and wife Donna Gail of Middleton; two sisters, Margie Burnette of Saulsbury and Zueline Brooks of Pocahontas; one brother, Jamie Porter of Adamsville; six grandchildren, Pam McClure, Thomas Lanier, Cindy Grantham, Jason Lanier, Randy Lanier and Kelly Darling; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, David Lanier; two brothers, Cecil Porter and George "Bo" Porter; three sisters, Lillian Lanier, Inez Porter and Phyllis Hillhouse; and a grandchild, Regina Lanier.
