WILLIE MULLINIKS

Jackson, TN: William Dean Mulliniks, age 62, passed away on September 22, 2026, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born in Jackson, TN on December 22, 1963, son of the late William Thomas “Tom” and Florence Elizabeth Hicks Mulliniks. He was raised in the Bemis community. Though, he was known as Willie to most, he was also known as “Willie Gains” to some in his younger years.

Willie has been painter his whole life and often painted for Bill and Chuck Miller.

In 1987, Willie met Debbie Shumate and the rest was history. They married on December 22, 1988, and it was a day they would never forget.

He was a simple man, but painting was his life. He loved to fish and go to the mountains. What he loved more than anything was his grandkids and great grandkids, he was a family man.

He attended Fellowship Bible Church South Campus.

Willis is survived by his wife, Debbie Mulliniks; two sons, Donnie Vales (Jessica) and Chris Vales; a daughter, Nikki Heidelberg (Don); three brothers, Ricky, Jimmy, and Mikey Mulliniks; a sister, Juanita King; ten grandchildren, Harley, Dillin, Nick, Malachi, Tristan, Paige, Keaton, Elizabeth, Clayton, and Baker; several great grandchildren and his best friend, Mark Crabtree.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Pat Mulliniks, Barbara Marsh, Wanda Cox, and Donna Rushing.

The family invites everyone who knew Willie not with tears, but with a smile, a good story, and even some laughter.

A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 AM Friday September 25, 2026, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with David Moore and Don Heidelberg officiating.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue on Friday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM service time.
