Willie Max Rogers, Jr. "Junior"

June 10, 1960 — November 8, 2025

Willie Max “Junior” Rogers, Jr., age 65, entered his eternal home on November 8, 2025, surrounded by his close family and friends. Born on June 10, 1960, to Willie Max Rogers, Sr. and Ollie Marie Godwin Rogers, Junior grew up rooted in love and the values of faith and family. He experienced the joy of his spiritual birthday in April 1987, when he accepted Jesus Christ and began walking faithfully in His grace. His father, Willie Max Rogers, Sr., preceded him in death.

Junior shared a beautiful life with his devoted wife, Sherry Russell Rogers, who remains to cherish his memory. He was a loving father to Willie Max Rogers, III and Eric Rogers and his wife Brandy Rogers. He was also a caring stepfather to April Russell, Ken Russell and his wife Mandy Russell, and Shelly Benson and her husband Dustin Benson.

Junior is also survived by his sister, Gale Roberts, and her husband Charles. Their family includes Tiffany Stanfill and her husband Jeff and their children, Jeri Ann Parker and her husband Scotty and their children, and Chris Stanfill.

Junior’s legacy continues through his grandchildren: Ella Grace Rogers, Evelyn Rogers, and Max Wayne-Allen Rogers. His heart also embraced his step-grandchildren: Landon Murphy, Lilly Benson, Zander Benson, Haven Benson, Blaine Durham, and Emma Hipps.

He was a faithful member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, where he lived out his calling to love and serve others. Junior was well known for his prayer ministry—calling, visiting, and faithfully lifting up the homebound and others in need of encouragement. His strong faith, gentle presence, and steadfast prayers brought peace and hope to many.

Junior worked as a car salesman with his family at Sandhill Auto Sales, where he built lifelong friendships with customers and coworkers alike. His warm smile, honest nature, and genuine care for people were hallmarks of his life and work.

Above all, Junior deeply loved his family. He was strong in his faith, unwavering in his love for Jesus, and devoted to praying for those he cared about. His legacy of love, compassion, and faithfulness will continue to live on in every life he touched.

“Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:21

The family takes comfort in knowing that Junior is now at peace, resting in the presence of his Savior, whom he loved so dearly.
