WILLIE MAE ROSSHenderson, TN: Willie Mae Johnson Ross, age 78, passed away June 13, 2009 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.She was born and reared in Chester County, the daughter of the late Everette and Margie Hill Johnson. She graduated from Chester County High School in 1950. She was married to David Tucker Ross in 1952. They made their home in Chester County, the Harmony Community all their married life. She had worked at Salant and Salant Mfg. in the early 50’s and later at Gano Dining Hall at Freed Hardeman from 1978 until 1982. She was involved in Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and the band program while her children were growing up. She attended church at Harmony and Estes all of her life. She taught Sunday school at the Estes Church of Christ for 49 years and had looked forward to her 50th year of Bible teaching at Estes.For many years she had worked as a register for the Chester County Election Commission on election days and she enjoyed sharing her garden with family and friends.She is survived by her husband, David Tucker Ross of Henderson; a son, David Keith Ross of Henderson; a daughter, Melissa Ross Kilpatrick (Elbon) of Jackson; a grandson, Henry Ross Kilpatrick; three brothers, J. R. Johnson, James Johnson and Lawrence Johnson and three sisters, Nell Vires, Ann Hysmith and Carolyn Henry all of Henderson.
