Wilma Lee Gant

Wilma Lee Gant, 75, of Hornsby, passed from this life Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

She was born July 16, 1947, in Toone, daughter of the late Scott and Bertha Thornton Sterling, and lived all of her life in Hardeman County.  She was retired from factory work with ITT in Selmer and enjoyed being outside, working in her yard and with her flowers.  She deeply loved her children and just life in general.  Ms. Gant was a Christian in faith.

Survivors include her sons, Troy Allen Wilson of Hornsby, Billy Glen Wilson and David Ray Wilson, both of Toone and John Wayne Wilson of Bethel Springs; two sisters, Carolyn Dowdy of Bolivar and Lisa Gail of Selmer; a brother, John Sterling of Toone; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Joe Sterling, Junior Sterling and Donald Ray Sterling.  Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org/donate).
