WILMA SUE KITCHEN

Henderson, TN: Wilma Sue McCollum Kitchen age 93, passed away May 12, 2026 at Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in the Center Point Community of Hardin County, the daughter of the late Elmer and Odessa Maness McCollum. She grew up in the Center Point and then the Five Points Community in Pinson and graduated from Pinson High School.

She married Clarence Kitchen on January 20, 1951, and they made their home in Henderson.

Mr. Kitchen preceded her in death on December 30, 2014.

She was primarily a homemaker but also worked for Chester County Sportswear and then for many- many years as a cafeteria worker for Chester County Board of Education, even retiring twice.

She worked in Christian Ministry along side her husband Clarence who was a Pentecostal Pastor for sixty-two years, (she played the piano and the Accordion).

She was a member of The Community of Christ Pentecostal Church in Henderson.

She was an excellent cook and loved to cook large meals for family and friends. She enjoyed gardening.

She loved Jesus and worshiping in Church and in her personal life.

Her favorite past time was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Kitchen is survived by a daughter, Janice Plunk of Jacks Creek, TN; a son, Jonathan Kitchen (Darleen) of Oakfield, TN; a stepson, Paul Kitchen (Deborah) of Dickson, TN; fifteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; a sister, Estelle Graves of Humboldt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence Kitchen, her son, Kenneth Kitchen, a brother, Darnell McCollum and a sister, Evelyn Strong.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday at Christ Community Church with Michael Rickenbaker officiating and burial will follow at Roby Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Christ Community Church 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday.
