Wilma Sue Martin

Wilma Sue Dixon Martin of Waynesboro, TN was born December 28, 1942 in Wayne County, TN, the daughter of the late William Loyd and Coral Clayton Dixon. She was united in marriage to Paul Lay Martin, Sr. on June 1, 1958 and he preceded her in death on November 23, 2005.

Mrs. Martin was involved with the Foster Grandparent program in the school system, having such a great love for the children. She was a member of the Green River Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee.

She is survived by sons, Mark Martin and wife, Wanda, Joe Lee Martin and wife, Olivia and John Martin and wife, Stephanie all of Waynesboro, TN, Paul Martin, Jr. of Lawrenceburg, TN and Bobby Martin and wife, Melissa of Collinwood, TN; daughters, Paula Eaton and husband, Larry of Waynesboro, TN and Stephanie Taylor of Lexington, TN; grandchildren, Glenda Briley, Larry Joe Eaton, Mike Allen, Kevin Allen, Lindsey Berry, Trey Taylor, Sarah Taylor, Zachary Martin, Emma Martin, Hunter Holder, Lacy Mendoza, Dylan Martin, Dustin Blalock, Brittney Blalock, Shelby Graves, Cole Martin and Rylan Martin; nineteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Oscar (Sonny) Dixon of Noblesville, IN; sisters, Betty Ruth Andrews of Waynesboro, TN, Billie Jean Kimbrell of Noblesville, IN and Mary Tom Frakes of Loretto, TN and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Duckworth and a grandchild, Cassie Martin.

Services will be Friday, December 9, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Ricky Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the King Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Larry Joe Eaton, Mike Allen, Trey Taylor, Zachary Martin, Dylan Martin, Dustin Blalock and Cole Martin.
