Wilma Thomas

Wilma Neill Thomas was born June 26, 1923 in Savannah, Tennessee the daughter of the late Cecil and Edna Young Neill.She was united in marriage to Troy E. Thomas in January of 1940. Mr. Thomas preceded her in death in May of 1979.Mrs. Thomas was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Christ.During World War II, Mrs. Thomas worked at the Cotton Mill in Decatur, AL. After World War II she and her husband moved to Detroit where he worked at Chrysler Corporation. While living in Detroit, Mrs. Thomas opened her home to boarders. She had a big heart and would welcome anyone into her home. She enjoyed reading and working in her flowers. She had the most beautiful flowers at her home in Savannah.Mrs. Thomas departed this life on February 14, 2011 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 87 Years, 7 Months, 19 Days. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Arlene Thomas Ingle of Ramer, TN; two sons, James Troy Thomas and wife Joyce of Selmer, TN, Dwight Douglas Thomas and wife Toni of Ramer, TN; a brother, O.C Neill of Moulton, AL; 8 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren; former daughter-in-law, Marie Stutts of Ramer, TN; special friend, T.J. Cavage of Ramer, TN; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by sister, Mary Elizabeth Fouse; brother, Arnold Neill; two stepsisters, Robbie Reaves and Carolyn Bratton.
