Wilma Barrier Haynes White was born on June 8, 1925 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Jacob Thomas and Dora Cossey Barrier.
She was united in marriage to Dueward Haynes, who preceded his wife in death on July 15, 1966. On March 17, 1976, she was united in marriage to Noel White, who preceded his wife in death on January 23, 2007.
Wilma worked at Brown Shoe Company and Angelica Manufacturing until her retirement. She loved to be outside working in her garden and in the winter months she would make quilts. She made sure each of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren had a quilt made by their Granny.
Wilma was a member of Savannah Church of Christ. She lived her life being faithful, trusting in the Lord in all of her joyful and difficult times, and has now gone to her Heavenly Home.
Wilma Barrier Haynes White departed this life on August 11, 2021 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 96 years, 2 months, and 3 days.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura Spradlin of Savannah, Tennessee; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Wilma was preceded in death by her twin daughters, Claudia Haynes and Frankie Brown; sons, Gary Haynes and Paul Haynes; brothers, Dueward Barrier, George (G.H.) Barrier, Guy Barrier, Charlie Barrier, and Gordon Barrier; and sisters, Clemmie Abrams, Beulah Daniels, Lorene Franklin, and Laura Mae Barrier.
