Mr. W. J. "Red" Cornelius of Middleton departed this life Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the age of 82 years, 8 months, and 24 days.
He was born in on August 28, 1929 to the late Loyd Taylor Cornelius, Sr. and Annie Ruth Ethridge Cornelius. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Whaley, who survives, December 31, 1948 and lived all his life in Middleton working as the owner and operator of Cornelius Lumber Company. He also was a cattleman and worked at Tennessee Gas Transmission. He was a member of the Middleton Church of Christ.
Mr. Cornelius is survived by his wife; a son, Joseph Ronald "Ronny" Cornelius and wife Annette "Sarge" of Middleton; a sister, Frances Ann Johnson of Manchester; four grandchildren, Beth Waller and husband Bo of Bolivar, Angie Ross and husband Lynn of Cedar Hill, Bill Cornelius and wife Amanda of Middleton and Jon Cornelius and wife Deanna of Brentwood; and eight great-grandchildren, Taylor Ross, Maddie Baker, Kate Cornelius, Ellen Cornelius, Braydon Waller, Caleb Cornelius, Audrey Cornelius and Brodie Cornelius.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Regina Cornelius, a son, William Kenneth "Kenny" Cornelius, and a brother, Loyd Taylor Cornelius, Jr.
