Woodrow W. Byrd, Jr., 79, of Crump, Tennessee, departed this life on Saturday, March 25th, 2017. He was the son of the late Woodrow W.,Sr. and Fannie Smith Byrd.
Woodrow is survived by his wife, Toni Byrd. He is also survived by his children, Lisa Weaver and husband Bob of Burns, Tennessee, Allison Haynes and husband Earl of Linden, Tennessee, and Michael Joe Byrd and his wife Angie of Lobelville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Johnny Byrd. He also leaves ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
In addition he is survived by his brother, Jimmy C. Byrd and his wife Linda of Pickwick Dam, Tennessee, sisters, Linda Doyle and Judy Lewing of Savannah, Tennessee and Nelda Coleman and husband Randall of Lobelville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by one infant sister, Carolyn Jane Byrd.
After graduating from Lobelville High School in 1956, Woodrow served in the United States Navy. Then he worked for Alcoa Aluminum in New Johnsonville, Tennessee. After moving to Savannah, he was employed by Memphis Publishing Company until his retirement in 2012. Woodrow was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. He attended Church on the Rock in Savannah where he was a faithful member.
Services will be held at Leeper Cemetery in Lobelville, Tennessee with Larry Rich officiating.
