Wren G. Germany of Roseville, CA, passed peacefully at home at the age of 96 with family at his side. Born October 28, 1926 in Talladega, AL and returned to his heavenly father on March 8, 2023.
As the second oldest of 8 children he had to forego his formal education to work on the family farm during the Great Depression helping to provide for others. At the age of 18 he would leave home to serve his country overseas in World War II. After returning from service he met the love of his life, Shirley May Russell, and began his own family enjoying over 72 years of marriage. After 45 years of employment at Acme Steel in Riverdale, IL he retired in 1992 and moved to California in 1994 to be closer to family. He continued his passion of farming and providing for those around him up until his passing.
He was preceded in death by his son Glenn (Pam), grandson Christopher, brothers Thomas, James Ewell, John Jr. and sister Dorothy. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of more than 72 years, Shirley, brother J. D., sisters Ella Dixie and Doris, cousins Claudine and Jim, children Mark (Lynn), Donna, and Steven (Sheryl) in addition to 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
