Xao K. Lo, 51, of Middleton, passed away Tuesday evening, December 11 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The husband of Xee Lee, who survives, he was a farmer all of his life. He was born in Laos, on Sunday, April 8, 1956, to Ge Lo and Pa Lee and lived in California from 1985-2000, in Colorado for a time and had been in Middleton since 2001. He served in the US Army in Special Forces during the Vietnam War, receiving a special commendation and citation from Congress in 1996 for Vietnam Service in Laos stating, ‘courageous defense of his people against communist aggression and his support and sacrifice on behalf of the US military’, and was a Sergeant in the Lao Veterans of America.
In 1985 he received his Associate Degree in Applied Science from Denver Auraria Community College. He also received a certificate of completion from the UC IMP Project for English as a Second Language Pesticide Label Comprehension Course in 2000, and a Silver Certificate for successfully completing a course on Electronic Calculators in 1980. Mr. Lo’s family stated ‘he was a loving and caring person who helped people out when they were in need, and that even though he’s not with us any more, many people still love and appreciate the many things he did for them until his passing.’
In addition to his wife, survivors include six sons, Cheng Kou Lo of California, Blong Lo of Middleton, Yia Lo of Jackson, Chee, Yai and Tou Feng Lo, all of Middleton; a daughter, Boul Lo of Toone; a sister, Chue Lo of Wisconsin; four brothers, Thia and Chang Lo, both of Sacramento, Calif., Cha Lo of Minnesota and Soua Lo of Fresno, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Cameron, Charlie and Catie (and Melody, to be born in February.)
