    James H. Floyd of Memphis, TN formerly of Selmer, TN

    September 14, 1937 - December 1, 2021

    James H. Floyd was born September 14, 1937 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late William Ervin and Sarah Jewel Bailey Floyd. Mr. Floyd worked for many years in Oil Company management. He enjoyed wood working, carpentry work, making furniture, lawn care, gardening, and playing pool. Mr. Floyd departed this life on December 1, 2021 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 84 Years, 2 Months, 17 Days. He is survived by two daughters, Sarah Porter of Southaven, MS and Marsha Lynn Floyd of Florida; eight grandchildren: Ashley (Pierce) Ramsey and husband Philip of Horn Lake, MS and Rachel Roberts of Salem, OR, Shannon Ashley, Theresa Leaverton, George Barton, Sarah Reardon, Rachel Harper, Kevin Floyd; eighteen great-grandchildren: Luna Penelope, Pierce Jones, Cannon James Ramsey, Trey Ramsey, David Itrich, Jennifer Ashley, Haylee Ashley, Kaylee Ashley, Nicholas Ashley, Makayla Love, Wyatt Love, Gabby Love, Thomas Ryan, Connor Ryan, AJ Reardon, Timothy Holbrooks, Trevor Holbrooks, Charlee grace Harper; nephews, Ervin, Richard, and Ronald (Tanya) Floyd. In addition to his parents, Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by a son, Earl Floyd, in 1994; an infant brother; brother, Leslie Floyd; and a grandson, Trey Pierce, whom his grandfather took special care of his needs during his battle with cancer; grandson, Joey Barton; great grandchild, Christopher Itrich. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Trey Pierce. Serving as Pallbearers are Barry Hudson, Ronald Floyd, Philip Ramsey, Ervin Floyd, Richard Floyd and Pierce Jones.
