    Donald Gene Sparks

    April 4, 1940 - June 14, 2022

    Donald Gene Sparks departed this life on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at the age of 82 years, 2 months, and 10 days. He was born in Tishomingo County, Mississippi, on April 4,1940, the son of the late Arthur Bernard and Daisy Ollene Sparks. He was united in marriage to Leticia Robinson Sparks, who survives. Donald had worked for AT&T as a foreman and was a member of Church on the Rock, Walnut Grove Volunteer Fire Department, and a Red Cross Volunteer. He loved to fish, garden, read, and study the Bible. Donald was a big Alabama fan, and never complained no matter what came his way. In addition to his wife, Leticia Robinson Sparks of Morris Chapel, Tennessee, Donald is survived by his children, Paula Neill of Savannah, Tennessee, Lisa McDowell of Nashville, Tennessee, Sharon Denis Riley of Hickman, Kentucky, and Stacy Lee Sparks of Adamsville, Tennessee; sisters, Janie Louise Allen of Savannah, Tennessee, Ethel Faye Blanton of Adamsville, Tennessee, and Anna Mae Thomas of Rolling Meadows, Illinois; brothers, Joe Sparks of Florida and Troy Lee Sparks of Yorkville, Georgia; grandchildren, Amanda McDowell of Nashville, Tennessee and Brandon Sparks of Adamsville, Tennessee; great grandson, Axel Lee Sparks of Adamsville, Tennessee; step children, Vicky Weeks of Milan, Tennessee and John Robinson of Adamsville, Tennessee; and step grandchildren, Dillon Weeks of Morris Chapel, Tennessee and Will, Maddie, and Effie Robinson, all of Tupelo, Mississippi; and sister-in-law, Linda Sparks of Signal Mountain, Tennessee. Along with his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Wayne Sparks and Roy B. Sparks; brothers-in-law, Tommy Leo, Alfred J. Dowell, and Paul Blanton; and a stepson, Chris Robinson. Services will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022 in the Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Larry Rich officiating.
