    Margie Sue Cox Howell

    May 17, 1936 - January 7, 2022

    Margie Sue Cox Howell was born May 17, 1936 in Hardeman County, TN the daughter of the late Neely and Ida Mae Chandler Cox. Mrs. Howell lived most of her life in the Silerton Community. She picked cotton to help feed her family and could pick more than most men. She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens, tending to her chickens, and canning vegetables for her family. She was the happiest when she was taking care of her children, grandchildren and anyone else who needed extra love. Her house was always full of children and love. Mrs. Howell departed this life on January 7, 2022 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 7 Months, 21 Days. She is survived by her children: James D. Howell, Bonnie Smith, Jeff Howell, and Wilton Stack; step children, Debbie Howell and Johnny Howell; children she raised like her own: Jeannie King, Connie Cossar, and Jonathan Eads; nine grandchildren: Cody Lipford (Rebecca), Holli Howell, Mollie Hurst (Logan), April Kiser, Aaron Kiser, Regina Patterson, Heather Stack, Danny Stack (Kayla); a sister, Grace Dukes of Columbus, GA; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by her husband, James Ona Howell; her children, Brenda Faye Howell, Belinda Kaye Howell, Bonita Stack and Danny Stack; a child she raised like her own, William Ferguson; grandson, Wilton Stack Jr.; three sisters, Louise Bray, Helen Johnson, and Alice Cox; three brothers, Verlon, Vernon, and Virgil Cox. Visitation and funeral services will be private.
