    Peggy Joan George

    June 23, 1933 - February 26, 2022

    Peggy Joan George was born on June 23, 1933, to the late John and Jewel Price of Michie, TN. She passed from this life on February 26, 2022, at the age of 88 years, 8 months, 3 days. Her McNairy County education was attended at Acton Elementary and Michie High School. Following graduation with the class of 1951, she married her high school sweetheart, John George, on September 29, 1951. She had many admirable qualities making her a truly special and kind lady. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and Christian lady. She was a lifelong member of the Acton Church of Christ where she served diligently and steadfastly. Her hobbies included cooking, traveling, gardening, playing Rook and Dominoes with family and friends, and spending quality time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a gracious and elegant lady who made the world a more beautiful place for all of us to enjoy. Her influence will be cherished by many friends and family. Respectfully honoring her are her daughters, Linda Hagy and husband Nor, Pam Cox and husband David, Janet George; her grandchildren, Vin Hagy, John Hagy and wife Roni, Allen Hagy and wife Sara, Emily Cox and husband George, Lauren Short and husband Ben, Brooke Sanford and husband Steve, Anna Goethals and husband Trey; great grandchildren, Jacob, Luke and Sam Sanford, Beckett Hagy, Rowan and River Hagy, Cole Short; and her sister, Marie Carroll; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John George; her parents, John and Jewel Price; brothers, J.D. Price, Harris Gene Price, Jimmie Price, John Wayne Price; grandson, Nicholas Hagy; great grandson, Jaden Short. Memorial may be made to the Acton Church of Christ in honor of Peggy George.
