Shelby Jones Henson - Bartlett, TN

Shelby Jones Henson Shelby Jones Henson was born August 23, 1941 in the Woodville Community of Chester County, TN, the son of Paul Jones Henson and Bufie Ellen Rowland Henson. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1960. He was united in marriage to Sarah Bonice Peddy on June 27,1964 at Pinson. They moved to Memphis, TN and lived in the Memphis/Bartlett area for fifty-seven years. He was an active member of Bartlett United Methodist Church. Shelby was a farmer, worked at Quality Manufacturing Company in Henderson and was employed by Dupont/ICI in Memphis for 35 years. He enjoyed deer hunting on the family farm and pheasant hunting in South Dakota. Shelby Jones Henson departed this life on January 31 at the age of 80 in Memphis. In addition to his wife, Bonice, Shelby is survived by three daughters, Sonia Jenkins (Mike) of Van Buren, AR, Carrie Zinser (Bobby) of Memphis and Alisa Harber (Troy) of Bartlett; six grandchildren, Trey Jenkins (Corrie), Katie Jenkins Das (Dhrub), Jessica Jenkins and Callista Jenkins of Van Buren, AR, Brylee Harber and Alaina Harber of Bartlett; and one brother, Emerson Henson (Dianne) of Bethel Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Bufie Henson, brother, Gaston Henson and niece, Paige Henson Argus. Memorial donations to honor the life of Shelby Henson may be sent to Bartlett United Methodist Church, Bartlett, TN or New Friendship Baptist Church, Henderson, TN. Funeral services will be 6:00 PM Monday, February 7th at Bartlett United Methodist Church, 5676 Stage Road, Bartlett, TN with visitation beginning at 4:00 PM Monday at the church. There will be a visitation at Shackelford Funeral Directors, 304 Crook Avenue, Henderson, TN on Tuesday February 8th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM followed by a graveside committal at 1:30 PM at New Friendship Cemetery in Chester County.
