    William Smith Gann of Selmer, TN

    December 21, 1945 - September 26, 2020

    William Smith Gann of Selmer, TN was born December 21, 1945 in Selmer, TN, the son of the late John Perry Gann and Florence Margaret Hockaday Gann. William retired from the TN National Guard after 38 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bethel Springs, Tennessee. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a volunteer for the Baptist Disaster Relief. He was an avid woodworker and a very accomplished furniture maker. William had built many pieces of furniture for his family, friends and churches. He used a cross as a trademark in all of his furniture and that was non-negotiable. He also enjoyed gardening. As a man of many talents, he always accomplished what he set out to do. He was united in marriage to Donna Graham on June 7, 1993. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family will miss him. William departed this life on September 26, 2020 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 74 Years, 9 Months, 5 Days. He is survived by his wife Donna Gann; a son, Bill Gann and wife Alisa; three grandchildren: Brittney Scott and husband Zach; Andrew Gann and Tyler Gann; three great grandchildren: Atleigh Scott, Bexley Scott, and William Gann; two sisters: Margaret Alexander and husband Joe and Mildred Pollard; three step children: Tina Boyd, J. Shannon Boyd, and Jacqueline Boyd; seven step grandchildren: Justin and Beth Riley, Coleman Connor, Rae Anna Boyd, Randi Jo Smith, David Boyd Carter and Wyatt Inman; 5 step great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Bethel Springs, Bethel Kids. Friends may visit with family after the service at 6 pm on Wednesday, September, 30, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Bethel Springs, TN.
