July 5, 1923 - October 7, 2020
Louise Tune Hinton Reed departed this life on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at the age of 97 years, 3 months, and 2 days. She was born in Waterloo, Alabama on July 5, 1923, the daughter of the late John Henry and Irla Belle Craven Tune. On April 3, 1976, she was united in marriage to John H. Reed, who preceded her in death on May 28, 2000. Louise was a loving wife, mother, and an especially caring grandmother. She loved to sing gospel music, was an avid gardener, enjoyed quilting, and was a great cook. She truly loved the Lord and would spend hours in prayer, and had read the Bible front to back multiple times. She was always helping others and one Thanksgiving, on the way to a family dinner, she gave away the food she had cooked to a homeless family. Throughout Louise's long life, she had worked for Garan Manufacturing, Brown Shoe Company, North Elementary, Hardin County Central High, Kay Windsor, and Wal-Mart. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, where she was one of the original founding members. Louise is survived by her children, Tommy Hinton and his wife Jean Marie of College Grove, Tennessee, and Janice Paulk and her husband Larry of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Lori Magness and her husband Charlie of Savannah, Georgia, Michael Paulk and his wife Shauna of Bedford, Texas, Elizabeth Raffel and her husband Richard of Memphis, Tennessee, Jennifer Curlin and her husband Mike of Arlington, Tennessee, and Sara Liles and her husband Cody of Arlington, Tennessee; great grandchildren, Elijah, Ella, Eva Reece, Eden, and Everleigh Raffel, Asher and Henley Liles, Emily and Lauren Amman, and Edwin Paulk; sisters, Nadine Hinton of Waterloo, Alabama, Nellie Elizabeth Lyon and her husband Don of Holly Springs, Mississippi, Cora Hosea and her husband Joyce of Savannah, Tennessee, Betty Wilson and her husband Jim of Coldwater, Mississippi, Karen McGee and her husband Jim of Tupelo, Mississippi, and Faye Boyette of Tupelo, Mississippi; and a brother, Lane Tune of Tupelo, Mississippi. In addition to her parents and her husband, Louise was preceded in death by the father of her children, Ancil Hinton; grandchild, Benjamin Thomas Hinton; great grandchild, Benjamin Noah Stracener; sisters, Mervee Benson, Olean Shutt, Gertie Craig, Ann Elizabeth Putt, and Carlene Davis; and her brothers, Willard, John Dee, and Ray Tune. The family requests that masks be worn during visitation and funeral. Thank you.
